Consulting - oranisation and branding
Organisation review - We helped the Director of BD and Strategy in one of the top three global law firms to review the options for reorganising the BD and marketing team. The recommendations led to a reorganisation of the team along new lines better suited to the increasingly international balance of the business and changing market demands, sector focus, and client development.
Marketing review - Extract from law firm client interview in the press: "...The marketing review examined the role of the marketers as they relate to the firm’s eight [UK and international] offices... It led to a tightening of the focus on which parts of the firm will now be prioritised for marketing." The liaison partner for marketing [said]: "The review was received positively across the firm and has allowed us to adopt a much more proactive approach." The head of marketing said "...a review such as this one (especially when led by an independent outsider) pays for itself many times over if it nails down issues such as priorities, roles and relationships between partners and marketers."
Branding development - Over a two year period The Business Development Practice worked with a UK regional law firm, initially to help define and express what the firm stood for. The work involved interviewing clients, partners and staff, and running a series of workshops to achieve buy-in to the concept. We then worked with them to establish the detailed principles and behaviours which would underpin the brand. A senior member of the firm described the guidance as "invaluable" to the development of the firm.
Proposals review - A Top Ten City law firm wanted to know why they were not getting beyond the proposals stage when pitching for new work and clients. The Business Development Practice reviewed their proposals and their processes and made recommendations for improvements. In addition we were asked to draft guidelines for future proposals, to help their marketing and pitch teams in the future.
